Journalist, lawyer and author, Stephanie Hepburn has written an acclaimed new book about human trafficking in 24 countries-from New Orleans to New Guinea, from Baltimore to Bangladesh, from Laos to Los Angeles. Stephanie brings uncommon passion and penetrating insights, born of exhaustive investigation, to a topic which needs both.

Ms. Hepburn first witnessed human trafficking in post-Katrina New Orleans, an experience that sparked her curiosity to delve deeper into the issue. She has delivered a passionate global examination of trafficking in more than 23 nations. Robust data gathering and statistics are necessary to frame the full extent of human trafficking, but, "The victims' stories are the heart of this book," says Hepburn. She weaves sensibilities throughout the book, as she and co-author Rita Simon follow victims and share their compelling stories. The authors also examine contributing factors in human trafficking commerce such as economics, geography, civil unrest, societal inequality and gender, as well as laws, customs and national agendas that sometimes conflict with a nation's own anti-trafficking laws.

Stephanie Hepburn has put a magnifying glass on human trafficking throughout the world. Adds Joanne Myers, of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, "Stephanie personifies investigative journalism at its finest."

Available at Amazon and Octavia Books in New Orleans, LA.
