Many parents and guardians view the first solo trick-or-treating excursion as a rite of passage for their children. Author Carol Reid's new book, "Spook-ee Wook-ee Halloween" (published by AuthorHouse) addresses this coming-of-age tradition with crazy, little rhymes that make the book fun to listen to and read.

The story focuses on the experience of a young boy during his first Halloween going out alone. His imagination runs wild with things he thinks he hears and sees.

An excerpt from "Spook-ee Wook-ee Halloween":

"When the wind is NOISE-EE-WOISE-EE in the trees all around
There are GHOST-EE-WOAST-EES EVERYWHERE but they cannot be found!!"

Children who have gone trick-or-treating will find something to relate to in this story. Trick-or-treating is,
"a very memorable part of childhood," writes Reid.
