The Apron Strings Trilogy consists of "Apron Strings," "Done Growed Up," and "If It Ain't One Thing…" which all chronicle the life of Sallee Mackey and her family over the course of decades.
As the trilogy moves through time, Mackey grows up, deals with being a teenager at a time of segregation in the South, and gets married, all with her loving but dysfunctional family by her side. Though the majority of the trilogy takes place during the South's segregation era, modern themes permeate the trilogy, such as racism, alcoholism, and divorce.
"I write about tragedy and struggles from the heart, as I have personally experienced it in various forms throughout my life, but I also inject compassion, humor and recovery into my stories," Morony said. "The more human and relatable I make my characters, the more I am sharing with my readers a piece of myself."
In the Apron Strings Trilogy, readers will come along for the ride with Sallee Mackey and her family as they grow old together and ride the wave of life with love.
