In "Angel Nightingale: A Nurse's Journey of Healing With Angels" (published by Balboa Press), Soodabeh Mokry, RN, CHt, chronicles her escape from a life of war, torture and government brutality in Iran to America, where she found peace and comfort by connecting with what she calls the angelic realm.

"I lost my father when I was thirteen years old. I was a victim of the Iranian government brutality; I was captured, tortured and beat into a coma at the age of nineteen," Mokry says. "I survived eight years of war and the death of my younger brother in a sudden car accident two months prior to leaving Iran. When I arrived in America, my marriage of ten years suddenly and unexpectedly ended. I was left alone with 2 young children, no money, no family or friends, and didn't even speak English. However, I managed to go back to school and graduate as a registered nurse."

It was during this time period where Mokry was introduced to the angelic realm, which she describes as inspiring her to "learn to dream big." Her story provides the reader with insight on life in Iran, living in America as a foreigner and finding peace of mind through spiritual means.
