Author Smithson Buchi Ahiabuike uses poetry to tell an epic love story based on events from his own life in his new collection, "Whispers of Love: True Love Poems" (published by Trafford Publishing).

Based in Eluama Isuikwuato, Nigeria, "Whispers of Love" chronicles the relationship between Nna, a young man in his early 20s, and Nma, the teenage girl he pines after.

Unfortunately, Nma will not return Nna's love. Heartbroken, he begins writing poems as a way of expressing his feelings. The more he writes Nma poems to convince her of his love for her, the more she keeps away from him. Refusing to give up, he continues writing in the hopes that she will one day change her mind.

For Ahiabuike, "Whispers of Love" is more than just a medium for him to express his feelings. The author writes:

"As a child growing up in my little town called Eluama Isuikwuato in Nigeria, I wanted books to read but there were none. Forty years later, as a grown man there are still no books anywhere for the kids to read. I desire to build a library in my home town in Africa and fill it up with books so that children can read and enrich their power of imagination and creativity. I intend to use the proceeds from this book to make this dream come true. And I need all the help I can get from all women and men of goodwill around the world."
