Waters lost her mother at a young age and her father left soon after, abandoning her to an orphanage. Despite these early hardships, she grew to be a poet, inspired by the people and natural world around her. "Slices of Life" shares Waters challenges in life and how her inner strength and determination helped her become stronger.
"People today need as much inspiration, encouragement, love and understanding as possible, to help them feel that, all is well in their world and they are not alone," Waters says.
An excerpt from "Interconnected" in "Slices of Life":
We are all interconnected:
people,
plants,
animals,
water,
air,
and the list goes on.
We survive only because of one another.
We are all part of one.
