Author Kerri Dyer-Keen's new autobiography, "My Corner of the Sky: Though I Never Expected Life to Be Quite Like This!" (published by iUniverse), began as a form of therapy. The author kept a personal journal of her experiences as recommended by her doctors. When she came back to her notes years later, she felt there was a story to tell in the pages.

Dyer-Keen was a successful variety performer in Australia, regularly appearing on TV shows such as Mike Walsh's and Steve Raymond's shows in the '60s and '70s. She traveled Australia playing venues across the country and even went as far as the Philippines to perform.

Dyer-Keen was one of three finalists selected to play the part of Evita in an Australian production of the musical of the same name. Three days before they were to announce the winner, she was in a devastating car crash that left her unable to perform. "My Corner of the Sky" follows Dyer-Keen's journey as she learns to cope with a life without singing.

"Overall, the theme is one of perseverance and honesty," Dyer-Keen says. "It is also one of honesty when looking back over one's life."
