6th November 2013, London-Simon and Schuster Children's Books today announced a new deal with bestselling author Michelle Harrison for a prequel to her award-winning 13 series.

Ingrid Selberg, MD at S&S Children's Books, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in the novel from Julia Churchill at AM Heath.

The 13 series, comprising The 13 Treasures, The 13 Curses and The 13 Secrets, was launched in 2009 with Harrison's much-loved and highly acclaimed debut novel, which won the Waterstone's Children's Book
Prize. Harrison has sold nearly 200k books to date, and the 13 series has been sold in 20 languages.

The new novel, entitled One Wish will be published on 22nd May 2014 simultaneously in paperback and eBook. One Wish is a prequel to the 13 trilogy, following Tanya's first brush with the fairy world. Meeting Henry 'Ratty' Hanratty and his Artful Dodger fairy sidekick, Turpin, Tanya soon finds there's nothing pretty or sparkly about
real fairies. The 13 series will also be published in a brand new package, perfect for a new generation of young readers.

Michelle Harrison lives in Oxfordshire. She's familiar with the publishing world on many levels, having worked as a bookseller and editor before becoming a full-time writer. She is also a talented illustrator.

Selberg said: "The 13 series has been incredibly successful for us and demonstrates what a fantastic writer Michelle is. We are thrilled to have this mesmerising new addition to the series for next year, as I'm sure her fans will be; readers can't fail to be enchanted by One Wish."
