In "The Price of Deception" (published by AuthorHouse), author Simangele Kekana's new novel, readers are taken into the hapless world of two twins who are cursed with bad luck after ignoring instructions not to take off special beads given to them before going to university.

As readers progress through this dark tale, they see each sister confront trials and tribulations that shatter their world. From being raped by a gang of men and left to die and to being mismanaged in labor resulting in complications, each part of the twins' life will have readers holding back tears and cheering for their victory.

An excerpt from "The Price of Deception":

"'Act your age,' she said. 'You have been terrorizing this nation for years; now it is your turn. I am giving you a taste of your own medicine.' Naledi pushed Uncle Monate's testicles upwards and made a neat incision underneath them. He began to bleed profusely, and Naledi tried to arrest bleeding with a paper towel. Tears flowed from his eyes as a sharp pain tore his heart; he became restless and moved from side to side. His cries were muffled behind the tape; his groans continued. Naledi removed his family jewels and put them on his nose, no anesthesia was used during the operation, and Uncle Monate was in unbearable pain."
