Hildebrand von Helden has brought the vibrant color of "Sig the Saxon: At the End of the Rainbow" to the world of juvenile fiction. Inspired by Odin traveling the rainbow bridge, Bifrost, on his eight-legged horse and the ancient, German custom of using white horses as oracles, this book is a heroic thrill-ride filled with wisdom, battle, and an unexpected ending.

Helden's book is a Saxon parable set in Germany C.E. 109. On the ninth day of Eastre's Month, seventeen-year-old Sig is enchanted out of his longhouse by the most beautiful rainbow. When he reaches its end, he is dazzled by the sight of a glowing, white horse, "Runa and the rainbow!" She has been sent to teach him the dangers of pursuing wealth and power. Hold on, as if your life depends on it! As his mentor, Runa takes Sig over the rainbow on a fast adventure from one end of Germany to the other where they encounter physical and emotional battles that force Sig to choose between a life as a raider or a superhero.

Excerpt from Chapter 3, The Rainbow:

"I'm rising!" Looking down, he saw the birch grove become smaller as the sky became nearer, and the only thing under Runa's hooves was "The rainbow!" Breathtaken, Sig looked toward the sky. "Heigh, heigh! We're goin' to Asgard!" Higher and higher, they ascended the glorious arch. Sig's red-gold hair looked like flames as it streamed behind him, above his black cloak.

As she galloped up the rainbow, mane and tail streaming, Runa looked back at Sig. What do you think?

"This is miraculous!"

That's exactly what I was hoping for.

"What?"

A miracle.

"Sig the Saxon: At the End of the Rainbow" is an inspirational story of heroism, and hope that includes the best of Norse mythology and the northern European tribes. The reading age for this book is 12 and up, yet it has a profound message that will appeal to adults.
