Sierra Leonean Ambassador 'Contrasts Old and New' in Newest Memoir

LONDON

His Excellency Ambassador Eddie M. Turay contrasts the old and new All People's Congress of Sierra Leone in his new book, "The Prophecies of a Father" (published by AuthorHouse UK).

Turay is Sierra Leone's High Commissioner to the U.K. and eight other Western European countries. In "The Prophecies of a Father," he brings readers into the culture, traditions, customs and party politics of Sierra Leone. Turay's book acts as part memoir and part political history book.

The content of Turay's book revolves around the traditional beliefs and faith of his late father, Paramount Chief Kande Turay of Sanda Chiefdom. Turay's father comes to represent a benevolence and acceptance of integrating Western beliefs and education with traditional African beliefs. Turay credits his father with allowing him to practice Christianity and receive a Western education.

Turay's education pays off as he begins advocating for political change in the country he loves. When the late President Siaka P. Stevens begins to take a shine to Turay, the prophecies of Turay's father come to fruition.
