Shirley Veltman firmly believes that there is only one true source for mankind to have a change of heart, mind and soul and that is through Jesus Christ. She shares with readers how he changed her life in "Fully Relying On God: Stories from My Life" (published by WestBow Press).

On the dark, cold, rainy night of her car accident, just minutes before she would crash her car, Veltman had cried out to the Lord. She tried, all her life, to change her circumstances, thinking that she would be okay and happy. However, things went out of control due to her poor personal choices. She soon realized that it was not others or the situations, but she, herself who needs to change. The moment she saw that she could not do it on her own, she called on God and he answered her prayer to change her life.

"Let me just say here that in our society, many people believe a great lie that God helps those who help themselves," Veltman says. "The truth is that God helps those who call on him, knowing that they can do nothing in their own power."

"Fully Relying On God" was written with love, compassion and caring for others. It offers help, hope, healing and comfort to all who will read it. Veltman hopes and prays that others will also discover God's amazing love, mercy and grace which are available for those who seek him first.
