Author Sherry Anthony opens up about the ups and downs of life as a single parent and reveals the special relationship between a single mother and her only child in her new memoir, "If You Could See Me Now" (published by WestBow Press), a book written in memory of her son, who passed away in 2006.

Anthony grew up in foster homes, having been orphaned at a young age. She longed for the opportunity to start her own family. She got her chance in 1984 when she gave birth to her son, Preston. Without a father in the situation, though, Anthony would be alone in providing for her son.

Trusting in God, she found her life with Preston was full of love, laughter and joy. During times of sorrow, she continued to turn to God. Through it all, Preston left his mark on Anthony's heart.

Preston's life was cut short on March 17, 2006. Through Preston's life, Anthony learned the unconditional love a parent has for a child and the love she felt from God throughout every ordeal. She hopes her book can be an inspiration to other parents and show that even in the darkest of times, there is hope.

An excerpt from "If You Could See Me Now":

"Through Preston's life, we can reflect on the lessons that God has sent us down on earth to learn. Preston's life as we knew it has ended, but his memory and dream can live on through the lives he wished to touch. It is through this commemoration that his history and memory can make a difference in your life."
