For a long time, Shemekia Samuels wobbled in her stiletto heels without Jesus Christ in her heart. Since she has accepted him, her walk has grown more stable and confident. In her new book, "I Love My Sister: And a Christian Walk-One Stiletto Step at a Time" (published by WestBow Press), Samuels shares with other women how accepting Jesus gave her life a sense of purpose and a better understanding of her place in the universe.
"No matter who we are, and what phase we are in our lives, there is always greatness meant for us, when we remain in God's will, anything else is destructive," says Samuels. As the founder of the group, "I Love My Sister," Samuels encourages and empowers other women to live the best life possible.
An excerpt from "I Love My Sister":
"We realize we are always yearning for more than the world has to offer. There's war, but we want peace. There's gossip, but we want trust and honest relationships. There's hatred, but we want love. There's depression, darkness, loneliness, abuse, and insecurity, but we want happiness, friendship, light, and truth. We want to love and be loved. We don't want to abuse or be abused"
"I wrote it in total accordance with God," says Samuels of her writing. "It's the 'now' you need to illuminate darkness, and encourage you to be in peace, and live a pleasant life. I incorporated everyday experience, and draws biblical teaching from them."
