LAS VEGAS, NV(Marketwired - Apr 7, 2015) - King Midas World Entertainment today announced the availability of "Black Scorpion: The Tyrant Reborn" created by Fabrizio Boccardi and written by bestselling author Jon Land.

The Tyrant literary property was launched in 2008 with the bestselling novel "Seven Sins: The Tyrant Ascending." McMillan is publishing Black Scorpion, which has already received strong positive critic reviews.

Comic artist Andrea Mutti has also been engaged as one of the first artists depicting the world of Michael Tiranno, "The Tyrant," also known as the "Tyrant Knight." DC Entertainment is producing "The Tyrant" comic project, which is to be published pursuant to a license from King Midas under one of DC Entertainment's imprints.

Mutti has worked on publications by DC, Marvel and Dark Horse, among others. He is credited in more than 90 top comic properties such as "Batman," "Star Wars," "Iron Man," "X-Men," "The Twilight Zone" and "Conan."

A movie adaptation, inspired by the book series, is actively in development in Hollywood as a film franchise.

"We have always envisioned an enduring multimedia franchise and the foundation of a new brand with 'The Tyrant,' a dark and complex superhero that is perfect for Las Vegas, the city of dreams," said Fabrizio Boccardi, CEO of King Midas World Entertainment and creator of the property and its franchise elements.

A licensing representation agreement has been signed with The Beanstalk Group, part of Omnicom Group Inc. Michael Stone, CEO of Beanstalk said, "We are confident 'The Tyrant' has great potential to become a franchise with brand qualities that can drive licensing success."

In July 2014 Twentieth Century Fox and King Midas World Entertainment reached an agreement regarding the Tyrant mark. Both parties are called on to refrain from challenging each other's mark and to work together to make sure no confusion is created among the public, with FX's Tyrant television story of an American family drawn into Middle Eastern turmoil, and King Midas World Entertainment's Tyrant, a superhero property.
