Second Book in New Contemporary Fantasy Novel Series About Aliens and Shapeshifters Released by L. E. Perry Image "Kindred Moon" picks up the pace in the "Moonphase" series, turning the Sci-Fi shapeshifters of the first book, "Fatal Moon" into superheroes, out to defend the world against vampires and narcissistic aliens who are now in league with each other. The second chapter takes the reader into the literal underground of Portland, Oregon, where vampires cling to dark corners, shrouded in illusion and ready to attack, with silver daggers drawn. The beleagered human-wolf gene-spliced heroes barely have time to gather forces to go into battle with the enemy when Luke, the leader, has to fly to Australia with Jordan, his new apprentice, to meet Subedai, an 800-year old Mongolian general. When the three men are attacked by the alien queen's minions in Subedai's mud hut, all they lose is a crystal skull and Jordan; it becomes clear that the greater prize is the man, for reasons no one anticipated. Selkies step in to help Jordan escape, but they learn that they'll have to go back and retrieve his half-brother, Tam Lin, from a dungeon through an underwater passage. This would be difficult enough if all they had to worry about is the palace security, which includes powerful alien mind-control. Unfortunately, Tam Lin is fitted with tracking devices that transmit his location, through which the evil alien princess can control him like a puppet; the man they're rescuing could turn into an attacker at any moment, unless Jordan is able to use his formidable blacksmithing skills to create metal covers for each of the strange bio-metal chains the man is wearing. It's a race against time, and all bets are off.

Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, L. E. Perry has an intimate acquaintance with the area where the book starts. With a degree in Experimental Psychology, she has a solid background in scientific exploration, always asking "How could that possibly work?" which gives the series a science-fiction foundation for the existence of werewolves, vampires, and aliens living undiscovered among us. Coupled with a love for conspiracy theories and ancient aliens, the lore of which she seamlessly works into the storyline, the books become a complex weave of the believable and the unbelievable, creating a world where mermaids could step out of the water at any moment, and be taken for granted by the characters.

The first book continues to be offered free at this time, for readers who would like to start at the beginning. The second book has been available on Amazon since June 1, 2018, and the third book will be released in June 2019. In yet another unusual move, however, a prequel, "The Harrowing of Tam Lin," will be released between books two and three, to tell the backstory of the new character Tam Lin, a medieval Scottish knight who was abducted by the villanous alien queen in the early fourteenth century. The book covers his younger years in Scotland, as a knight, before he was subjected to 650 years of imprisonment as a crucial part of the alien breeding program, since he's half-alien, half-human. He foils her plans by destroying his usefulness to her with infection by the werewolf virus, not realizing this will infuriate her so much that her torturous punishment will continue for centuries.

Perry's previous works includes writing as Nikola Tesla for a subscription service called "Letters Across Time," which sends personal letters to the reader through the mail.

"Kindred Moon" is available on Amazon and Google Play Books.
