The Editors at Amazon.com have recognized Two of a Kind by Seattle author Susan Mallery as a "Best Book of the Month in Romance" for July 2013. This is the second time this year that one of Mallery's books has been honored as a Best Book of the Month; Three Sisters was named to the prestigious list in April and was also named to Amazon's "Best Books of the Year (So Far)" list in June.
"I'm incredibly honored by the recognition my books are receiving," Mallery says, "Not just from professional literary critics such as the editors at Amazon, but also from regular readers. Two of a Kind has received more than 500 customer reviews on Amazon already, and it's only been out for two weeks."
98% of those reviews are 4- or 5-star, giving Two of a Kind an average of 4.8 stars from customers on the popular book selling website.
Mallery describes Two of a Kind as "a fun, flirty romance." The heroine is Felicia Swift, a brilliant social misfit whose genius IQ gets in the way of her dream of having a "normal life." She wants to fall in love, get married, have children, but she needs someone to teach her how to interact romantically with men. Enter Gideon Boylan, a former soldier who feels that love is dangerous because it makes one vulnerable. Gideon has no intention of falling in love with Felicia, but he agrees to teach her what she needs to know about romance.
"My books always have a happy ending," Mallery says. "So of course, Gideon learns that love doesn't make you weak at all. Love is the most empowering force in the universe."
Two of a Kind is the second book of Mallery's summer trilogy of romance novels set in the fictional town of Fool's Gold, California. The first, Just One Kiss, came out in June, and the third, Three Little Words, will be released on July 30. All three books are or will be available in mass market paperback, e-book, and audiobook.
