Sarah Smothers crafts a riveting sci-fi adventure novel that follows a young woman that finds herself entering a strange, enigmatic world entirely different from her own. As she unwraps the mystery of her bewildering new environment, the story highlights a clear and resonant message about the differences in society and how people place too much importance on the wrong things.

Set in an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, readers are taken to a city that is isolated from everyone by choice - inhabited mainly by intellectuals and prodigies. Jay Morderer, chemist extraordinaire, develops the essence of immortality and crafts a game by which the winner will receive the prize of everlasting life. Readers witness the intricacies of this eerie, mysterious land through the eyes of Fay Garmone, a young inquisitive girl, who found herself there due to a strange accident. She is forced to stay and compete in this dangerous game, all for a prize she does not want. As she struggles to survive, Fay faces her greatest battle when she discovers the one thing she cannot live without.

Entrancing, surreal and suspenseful, "The Morderer's Sacrifice" (published by Xlibris) blends science fiction with mystery as it strives to instill into reader insight about society and keep them thrilled until the very last page.
