Santa's Prayer Launches Kickstarter Campaign

PROVO, Utah, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Christians around the country are giving a poem called Santa's Prayer a big thumbs up, enthusiastic about a story that places Santa in a natural Christian context.
Responding to requests to make the poem into a children's book, first-time author Calvin Cory launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign on August 1st to fundraise the first print issue (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixelarius/santas-prayer). "The campaign will end on August 30th, and even though we have a ways to go, I'm already amazed at the generous response."
"I was hesitant to use Kickstarter at first, since the audience there seems to favor more liberal topics. I figured that a book which places Santa squarely back in the Christian tradition would likely appeal to a generally conservative audience." Kickstarter was recently criticized in the news for denying projects at odds with liberal political views. Now that Kickstarter has removed the pre-approval process, if the Santa's Prayer campaign is successful, it will help prove that the crowd-funding platform is also a viable funding option for Christian works of art.
Santa's Prayer is an engaging story about three children who discover Santa praying for their family on Christmas Eve. Santa tells them the Christmas story, focusing on the joy of giving. Inspired by his words, the children are suddenly filled with ideas involving ways they too can give. The littlest sister Molly seizes the moment when she steps forward and offers Santa her most prized possession.
Both witty and reverent, Santa's Prayer is a masterfully written story blending a rare combination of heartfelt depth with a light-hearted tone. Poetically speaking, the verse is as epic as it is beautiful, undoubtedly destined to become a Christmas tradition.
