"Go get 'em Tiger." These were the encouraging words of author Samantha Sims' father as he urged her not to stand back and let people trample her when she should be fighting to win what is rightfully hers. Her memoir, ""CQ, CQ". . . My Last Transmission" (published by AuthorHouse), is an exposé of her fight when she became a whistleblower for a case (with case number 2009-22784-FAA) against the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Sims cites that the FAA and the union had concealed their environment behind their nondisclosure clauses. With the nondisclosure clause missing from her out-of-court settlement (EEOC case number 510-2011-00014X) with the FAA, she is no longer helping the bullies to keep their secrets anymore. She shares her journal so that others still caught in the system can get the relief they deserve.
Knowing there are air traffic controllers still suffering from a similar environment, the author wants to shed a light about the FAA environment to help empower the ones that still need help. She states that bullies have their power in their secrets, and she is not staying quiet. This exposé is her way of helping those who continue to suffer in the dark. It is her way of empowering them.
Sims knows how hard it is to be in need of help and not get what you were asking for. Through her account, she reaches out to readers to let them know that someone out there has the same experiences as them. Sims is one who bravely stood up against the corrupt system that threatens to bully someone who does not have the courage to speak up and stand up for what is right.
