Her vast knowledge in reward and remuneration from working in the field of international human resources management and her passionate desire to empower women in their careers have prompted Sabiha Vorajee to put in writing her understanding about what would help women ask for what they want in their careers through her book, "Six Steps to Six Figures" (published by Balboa Press AU).

"Six Steps to Six Figures" is about helping women feel powerful and priceless, so they can ask for what they want in their careers, be that an opportunity, promotion, pay rise or something else. The goal of the author is to help women overcome their fears about asking for what they want in their careers, owing their worth and then truly asking for what they want.

The book does not only just provide superficial guides on what to and what not to do; it also taps on a deeper and personal level. Vorajee's past experiences on giving women practical advice somehow seemed to fail on occasions when according to her, women still did not have the courage to ask and felt unsure of themselves. Vorajee changed her coaching approach and instead began to focus on uncovering the deep, core issues and beliefs that may be stopping women from asking in the first place.

The book offers five steps that primarily work with women from an inner perspective and then the last step is about the outer perspective; taking action and applying everything they have learnt about themselves and how to ask.

"I'd like to help take the fear out of asking for what they want in their careers, once and for all, so not only can they do it for themselves, they can teach their daughters, nieces and granddaughters," Vorajee says.
