Eren Tatari draws upon her experience as an educator to present a unique understanding of Muslims and Islam. Tatari acquaints the reader with her personal journey in soul searching and understanding God, narrating in a fluent, friendly and contemporary manner suitable for all readers. Surrendering to God is a survey of fundamentals of the Islamic faith through analysis of the rich tradition of Islamic history and scholarship. One of its unique aspects is that the author benefits heavily from contemporary approaches to the Qur'anic exegesis. In other words, it is an assessment of the connection between the creation and the Creator from a perspective grounded on Islam. This doesn't mean that non-Muslims should skip the book. As Clare Corado expresses in her preface to the book, Tatari's approach is easily accessible to both Muslims and non-Muslims extracting "jewels of wisdom" that appeal to all.
Tatari breaks down the composition and route towards achieving God consciousness; and if implemented in one's life, one achieves strength in character and freedom. She connects with the reader with her unique style and welcomes the reader to learn about Islam in a sound, personalized and purposeful fashion. All in all, Tatari's book echoes the beauty of God and the empowerment bestowed upon His creation, particularly the right of man to seek wisdom.
