Simon and Schuster Children's Books has appointed Elv Moody as the new Editorial Director, Children's Fiction. Elv is currently Editorial Director at Puffin, where she has published major authors including Michelle Paver, Meg Rosoff and David Almond, as well as Jacqueline Wilson's number one bestseller, Four Children and It. She will join S&S in early June, to head up the team responsible for discovering award-winning talents including Sophie McKenzie, Katie Davies and Michelle Harrison, as well as established bestsellers Darren Shan, Becca Fitzpatrick and Philippa Gregory.

Ingrid Selberg, Director of Children's Publishing, said: "We are thrilled to have Elv join us at S&S. Her contribution to Puffin's success with her high profile authors and bestselling titles is impressive; her combination of commercial drive and editorial talent is exactly what we need to fulfil our ambitions for continued growth and success for our children's business."

Elv said: "I'm so delighted to be joining the team at S&S. It's a strong and growing list, and an exciting time to be coming to such an interesting, agile publisher."
