Laura Nowlin is from St. Louis. Her first book, "If He Had Been With Me" has been receiving great reviews for its poignancy, writing and characterizations. The book describes a lifelong friendship between two St. Louis teens, Finn and Autumn. Despite their differences, they form a close friendship. One incident in middle school drives a wedge between the two. When tragedy strikes, the remaining teen wonders how things might have been different.

A graduate of McCluer North, Laura Nowlin has a B.A. in English from Missouri State University. Reviews for her debut novel have been strong, with "If He Had Been With Me" earning a 4.13 out of 5 points by more than 450 readers on Goodreads.com.
