Author Thomas Pierre Verduyn's new book, "Scriptural Marriage: A brief study of 1 Corinthians 7" (published by iUniverse), highlights the harmonies between 1 Corinthians 7 and the rest of the Bible in an effort to help Christians better understand marriage.
Written for single, married and divorced Christians, "Scriptural Marriage" takes a closer look at 1 Corinthians 7. Verduyn seeks to define exactly what God says of marriage, divorce and remarriages by analyzing this passage line by line and providing extra research.
Verduyn also debates some major misconceptions about marriage and attempts to set the record straight. These are ideas and notions he had about marriage before he began dedicating more time to biblical studies. He hopes to pass on what he has learned to others Christians so they may better understand God's stance on marriage.
"My book takes a very honest and open look at what the Bible really says," says Verduyn. "It is intensely scriptural. There are few books that do the same today. Moreover, the conclusions in my book are unique because they deal with current misunderstandings."
