Sometimes when you are given a second chance at life, what emerges is beautiful poetry. "When I Finally Get There" is the author's second collection of poems.

Bobby Ferguson of Glasgow, Scotland, was told in 2008 that he had 18 months to two years to live and would never walk again. Seventeen months later, he had a 30 percent chance of surviving a cancer operation. "I should not be here," he says. Instead, he expresses himself through his evocative poetry, writing about romance, love, nature, childhood, and life in general.

"All my words come from a place I cannot explain. But I do tend to think ahead and have always done so. As with my earlier book of poems, Sense of Words, I began writing after a near-fatal head injury in December 2011, which left me with amnesia for over four months. I began writing again in March 2012, and have not stopped since. Poems just come to me, and I can easily write eight in an afternoon. Many say I am a born poet since I never studied poetry."

According to Robert Fletcher, CEO of Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency, "We are thrilled to announce the release of this second collection of poems by Bobby Ferguson, because sometimes a book just has to be written."

"WHEN I FINALLY GET THERE" (ISBN: 978-1-63135-384-0) is now available for $10.95 and can be ordered through the publisher's website:

About the Author: Bobby Ferguson says his thoughts are always looking into the distance and to faraway places. He won top prize for poetry from Scotland's best-selling newspaper when he was just 10 years old, and didn't begin writing again until after his head injury.
