The new book "It's Only a Bubble" says no. The traditional religious idea that man fell from a state of perfection is rejected.

Does God punish or reward humans on the basis of how pleased or angry He is with their degree of obedience?

This book says no. God is perfect and does not think, feel, or act like a man. The author theorizes that man was made by God, perfect in the "core field" (the place of perfection), but was simultaneously placed in the realm of "dimensions" (artificial bubbles on the surface of the core field) in an imperfect state, so he must struggle for and earn perfection by his own free decisions and actions.

Life is a struggle for humans to overcome and "grow over" obstacles. Obstacles are not punishments from God, but natural stimulations for growth. In the struggle to grow over life's obstacles, prayers are replaced by actions, and religions by rational thinking. While God is the mastermind of the whole process, man has the responsibility to micromanage his own affairs. Man will unite with his perfect version in the core field when he also earns perfection.

Finally, the author predicts and provides specifics on the way humans will refocus and modify beliefs, morality and ethics, as well as social and educational practices, as they move up to the higher levels of this dimension.

About the Author
This is the eighth book by Dr. Andreas Zachariou. It was written from a personal need to clear the unacceptable to him. The idea that man is an inherently sinful entity, having to deal with a God who agonizes over man's devotion and obedience to Him, a God who tests people, gets angry and frustrated like humans, and finally punishes or rewards people. Zachariou believes that God is perfect and does not behave like an imperfect man. The God presented by most religions is man-made and man-like.

Dr. Zachariou was born in Cyprus from a religious, low-income, but love-filled family and moved to the United States in 1973. After finishing his Ph.D. in intercultural educational development at Florida State University, he worked in New York as teacher, principal, and administrator, as well as a part-time university faculty member.
