S. Joseph Krause Releases MAD ADDIE

The new book, "Mad Addie: A New Woman Before There Was One" (published by Trafford Publishing) from author S. Joseph Krause tells the story of Addie, a heroine who has come of age and tests her awareness against changing experiences.

Taking place in northern New Jersey, "Mad Addie" is the story of a naive young woman who, upon breaking into the sex scene, indulges to the full, acquiring a take-on-the-next attitude of a hedonist. Lovers find her special. She gets the best of men who think they've taken advantage of her. Men who think they've conquered, in the end are themselves conquered. And they love it.

"It piles on complication and shows how it can be dealt with," Krause says of his book. "What seems dauntingly complicated is reduced to understanding and is surmounted. Success is within the reach of ordinary people. You don't have to capitulate to deviousness."

Krause hopes that through reading his novel readers understand that by staying clear headed, one can make it through the challenges of life.

About the Author
S. Joseph Krause is an emeritus professor of English at Kent State University and has previously taught at the University of Missouri, the College of William and Mary, The Ohio State University and the University of Akron. He did his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Missouri, his Master of Arts at Yale University and his doctorate at Columbia University. He did a book, "Mark Twain as Critic," with Johns Hopkins, and was general editor of the MLA-sealed edition of the "Novels of Charles Brockden Brown," America's first professional novelist, for which he did "Historical Notes" and a "Historical Essay" for Edgar Huntly.
