Many questions have been asked concerning the redeemed or redemption, such as, "What is the meaning of the word redeemed? Who are the redeemed? Is there a process one must go through in order to obtain redemption?" Ministers, soul winners, and missionaries alike are approached with these questions at some time or another. For some unknown reason, these questions create problems and misunderstanding for some and causes confusion for others. It is author Ruthie Johnson's determination to solve some of these problems and clear the minds of those who may be confused.

Through her new book, titled "Redeemed of the Lord," Johnson presents to readers her thesis report in the field of Christian education as she tackles the subject of redemption. The questions and problems in this book are of great significance because they clearly present the arguments for this study. Some of the factors that Johnson considers in making this study include using an absolute, correct approach to questions concerning religion and Christianity, having an in-depth background and knowledge on the biblical subject being discussed, and rightfully dividing the evidence and the proof of issue being discussed or argued.

Chapter 1 of this book discusses the Covenant of Redemption with emphasis on the mind as well as rational reasoning against unethical thoughts. The mind referred in this chapter is the mind of the author during the time she began her studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In Chapter 2 however, she becomes the student of the Holy Spirit, her Master Teacher who dwells from within her heart. The Master Teacher reminded her that God held a conference; it was a determinate counsel. This counsel brought forth the book of Genesis. These three (God the Father, the Holy Word, the Holy Spirit) represent the wholeness, the totality, the plethora of God's determinate counsel. The Master Teacher also instructed her to read several different scriptures that would enlighten her on the subject of sin and this is covered on Chapter 3 of this book. Chapter 4 provides a summary about the subject of redemption.

"Redeemed of the Lord" is an enlightening read that gives readers clearer answers to some questions and a better understanding on the subject of the redeemed and redemption. This entire work will culminate (if approved) for author Ruthie Johnson towards a degree in master of theology (Th.M.) on her way to become a Christian education instructor.
