Roland Charley's new novel, "Dead End Poverty" (published by AuthorHouse), tells an exciting story of taking matters into one's own hands and changing life for the better, despite the risks.
"Dead End Poverty" takes the reader back to 1973 in the tiny village of Simbaru in eastern Sierra Leone. Yandi and Mila are not content with village life because of the extreme poverty they face. They take their fate into their own hands and escape the village to try their luck in the rich diamond fields of Kono. Yandi and Mila test their fate in hopes to realize their dreams, but the new life they encounter and embrace in Kono may not be what they fully expected.
"I want my readers to take pleasure, courage and hope from my work," says Charley. "I want them to know that life can change for anyone but they have to make that choice for them self and once that choice is taken, it is dependent on them to make the most of it."
