Robert Lockwood, author of "A CULTURE OF DECEPTION," "Political Ducks," and "Au Revoir, Israel" among many impressive others, is back to deliver sweats with his newest publication titled "ARTFUL MURDER IN THE HAMPTONS". At the heart of this heart-pounding work of fiction beats a perilous and unlawful exploit to be undertaken by a sorely ambitious art broker. Readers can follow this large-scale heist awash with intrigue and thrill delivered straight from its amoral characters.
Stashed away in the attic of a New York City brownstone are 200 long-forgotten French impressionist masterpieces, valued at $1.6 billion in the festering Asian art markets. Zach ben Meier, the globally prominent art dealer, learns of their existence after reading the deceased painter's memoirs in the musty archives of Paris' Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Ben Meier ostentatiously implants himself in the Hamptons - what better "blind" to steal this quarry of artworks.
The tendrils of Zach's pursuits become complicated. Complications sprout beyond control on Long Island, in New York City, in Monte Carlo, even on the streets of Paris. He forms a bizarre relationship with Adrielle, a former assassin forced into early retirement by the Mossad because of her cloying savagery. Together they fashion and execute a scheme that degenerates into mutual self-entrapment. Soon, Ben Meier finds himself in the middle of a situation far more twisted than originally planned.
The plot proceeds even more dangerous and conflicts arise as additional and more cunning characters spring to being, adding even more treacherous twists to the already enthralling story arc. With "ARTFUL MURDER IN THE HAMPTONS," Lockwood once again proves his flair for mind-blowing whodunits.
