Montrose, CO

Author Robert (Bob) Cox has had a lifelong love for the state of Colorado. Now, he records his love for the flora, fauna, and natural beauty of the state in his new book, "Fishing Close to the Bank" (published by AuthorHouse).

" 'Fishing Close to the Bank' is as much a metaphor as a title," Cox says. "Using the outdoors as an aid to mental health seems to me to be natural."

With a focus on fishing, Cox examines what he sees as a desire in people to focus on far-off adventures while overlooking the opportunity for rest, relaxation, and enjoyment in their own backyards.

Cox provides anecdotes about his experiences fishing in Colorado. He offers advice not only on fishing, but also on life in general. He hopes this book will inspire others to enjoy the great outdoors.

An excerpt from "Fishing Close to the Bank:"

"The title of this book owes a lot to Beaver Lake. It is the first place I remember learning the lesson that casting out to the middle of the lake is not always necessary, just as it is not necessary to travel great distances to have great experiences."
