About the author: Patrick Range McDonald is an investigative journalist and former staff writer at LA Weekly, where he won numerous awards, including the "Journalist of the Year" award from the Los Angeles Press Club. He's the co-author of former Los Angeles Mayor Richard J. Riordan's memoir. McDonald is a New Jersey native and a Fordham University graduate. He lives in West Hollywood, California.
