After hearing the incredible details of the first 17 years of his wife's life in Thailand, author Rick Mercer was inspired to chronicle her experiences in his new biography, "The Ghost of Thailand: A Girl's Tale" (published by Trafford Publishing)
"The Ghost of Thailand" tells the true, fascinating story of a young girl named Moo, born into poverty and orphaned in the northeastern jungles of Thailand. After a near-death experience at a young age, she discovered not only her true self, but the incredible power that existed within her.
Moo's inner strength gives her the fortitude to cope with fun and natural experiences, as well as the horrific and supernatural events that affected the first 17 years of her life. Before she even graduated high school, Moo had witnessed a public suicide, an old man being beaten and confronted the supernatural. Mercer chronicles every experience with vivid detail, drawing readers straight into Moo's world.
Ultimately, "The Ghost of Thailand" is a loving tribute to one girl's courage to overcome poverty, recognize her ability to rationalize the truth and see beyond the place where fantasy ends and reality begins.
"This is a non-fiction ghost story that contains a mixture of drama, horror and suspense with a little dash of humor," Mercer writes. "This book is very entertaining for an audience of all ages and tastes."
