As a father and grandfather who took a serious interest in teaching his children and grandchildren letters and words, Richhi Ross decided to teach his grandson the alphabet. This quickly escalated to two letter words, but Ross was out of luck since there were no resources that could help him. So, he decided to create his own flash cards which quickly proved to be lacking - the comprehension portion was missing. With the addition of his daughter's illustrations, his hopes were answered. He has gathered all of the flashcards into "After the Alphabet: A Two Letter Word Book" (published by Trafford Publishing) to readers to help other parents and grandparents.

Each page has a two letter word that has been set in a certain context. Along with this context are pictures to help early readers understand what the sentence is saying even if they do not necessarily understand everything in the sentence - sentences are usually two words long describing an action or noun. The book is 36 pages long and each page introduces a new word to early readers. The pages also hold a different theme that is up to the parent to decide on. For example, one page features a picture of a clown saying HA HA.

"The book provides a simple, easy to understand, common two word phrase with a soft-on-the-eyes illustration," explains Ross. "Each two letter word is the same color to demonstrate its importance. Also, each left page is blank for your personal use of reward (stars or stickers) and further practice - drawing a story or creating your own. This book makes learning fun and successful."
