With a keen interest in the early years of the fur trade, author Richard Jensen decided it was time to pen a story that presented his love of the trade to the world. "The Fur-Lined Crypt" (published by Trafford Publishing) is his dream turned into reality.

Jensen invites readers to experience the adventures of the 18th century as his book takes them into the harsh and unforgiving life of the men in the early North American fur trade. "With grit and courage," says Jensen, "these men moved through the uncharted to unveil the mysteries of the hinterland, thus opening the way for civilization and settlement of a new continent. They lifted the veil of distance and found ways to overcome the inhospitable climate that hid the land's wealth and potential."

The book also looks at the various forts and trading centers scattered around the rugged land that provided a vital service to the traders and offered a unique entrance into the continent's heartland. "This historically accurate chronicle threads an intriguing yarn of human perseverance through the pain and anguish of living in isolation far from loved ones," states Jensen.
