Richard's latest book, "Will: 15 years on the city streets - Wezzo survived!" (published by Trafford Singapore), is inspired by the real-life 15-year city streets survival by Greg Westbrook, an old high school friend. "Will" gives readers a personal insight into Wezzo, the central character's downward spiral onto the streets of Newcastle, Australia.

"The book is a reflection of the rapidly escalating trend of affluent individuals and families who are now finding themselves homeless on the streets of capital cities and major centers throughout Australia and the world," explains Convery.

"Will" has been 25 years in the making. Knowing the beginning of Greg's demise but losing touch with him for 25 years, Convery could have no idea of how Greg's story might end. "Will" is Convery's interpretation.

In 2012, Convery discovered that Greg was miraculously still alive, unlike so many others who'd perished on the streets. When they were reunited Greg was amazed by the parallels in "Will" to that of his own life.

Together they hope this book will spark debate and draw attention to what Convery sees as the shocking plight of the countless number of Australians who call the streets home every night. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics more than 105,000 people are designated homeless in Australia, with 60 percent aged under 35.

"As entire nations teeter on the brink of bankruptcy and businesses fail at an alarming rate," says Convery, "once affluent families and individuals are being forced onto the streets all around the world."

Convery is launching a nationwide program to highlight the devastation of homelessness. "It is being told through the story of one who lived it - a powerful, timely and essential message of hope," he explains.
