A young black woman is left to her own devices when she is denied purchase of property on the basis of discrimination. In the new book by author Rhona Ferguson, "Where Success Lies" (published by AuthorHouse), the young woman wrangles her way into a prestigious position in a Fortune 500 company located in the upper east side of Manhattan, N.Y., where she is instrumental in the changing of corporate discrimination.
"It is my intension to get people talking while I present positive solutions to certain social issues by writing books that have a plausible storyline, allowing the reader to put himself in that situation," Ferguson says.

"GeeGee got into her car and sped down the street before realizing an officer was ordering her to pull over using a bullhorn. She swung over onto a soft shoulder at the side of the road. The officer watched as GeeGee began to fidget with each passing step he made closer to the side of her vehicle. She was able to sneak a last peek at her reflection in the rearview mirror to check her face and quickly fix her hair. GeeGee watched the officer approach making a roll down the window gesture and said, 'May I have your license and registration please?'"

Rhona Ferguson grew up during the time when racial discrimination was prevalent. Throughout her early school years, she experienced segregation in the form of taunting and bullying from her peers, spearheaded by her second grade teacher. As a result, Ferguson grew up with a fear of being in any classroom setting. High school was her first positive classroom experience where she received a 100 percent on an essay exam from a teacher who set the proper example for her peers to follow and she was treated fairly by them for the first time during her school years. Ferguson now lives in Florida where she continues writing about segregation and its effects.
