Helen Keller once said, "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." Readers looking for a much-needed dose of optimism to transform their lives will find it in author John Stephens' book, titled With Peace in Mind, which is set to be featured in an upcoming Regional Book Exhibit this year.
Driven to inspire and move others to experience and accept God's presence, the author weaves very short, heart-warming stories, stirring poetry, and encouraging one-act plays. In the story "A Bedtime Story," two three-year-olds of different races fight over a toy car, but end up playing together. In the poem "A Meditation in Prayer," readers will learn to pray through the ABC to W of this prayer. In a short anecdote, readers will discover how to think of others instead of just themselves. These, and many other brilliant literary pieces, await readers.
With Peace in Mind is an anthology of concise yet sharp prose and poetry which contains insightful messages that strike directly to the heart and soul, propelling readers to an inspiring journey. With so many poems and short stories people can easily relate with, Stephens' message about God's love, kindness to others, faith, hope, and courage will surely resound in the smiles, hearts and souls of readers.
This collection is a great way to start one's day; reading one short story or poem every morning, and trying to live-in word and action-its important message throughout the day.
With Peace in Mind will be featured at the 2013 New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Niagra Falls, NY, on September 26 - 27, 2013

About the Author
John Stephens was born in Hereford, England, in 1926. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1943, when he was seventeen, and served as a wireless operator aircrew, continuing until the Korean War when he retrained and was commissioned as a pilot. At the age of forty he married Flora, a German national, and they had two children. Sadly, Flora died of brain tumour after nine years. At the age of forty three, he went to college for training as a teacher, a career in which he continued until retiring at the age of sixty five. Two years after the death of Flora he married Audrey, who had been a missionary nurse in Kenya. It was then that John's life was turned around. With Audrey's encouragement, including attendance at a Billy Graham meeting at Aston Villa Football Ground and attendance at many Christian conferences, he gave his life to the Lord. Audrey died of cancer in May 2000. Today, he is an author and active member of an Anglican church.
