Author Takes the Popular New Adult Romance Genre to a Whole New Dimension

TORONTO, July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Romance author, Rebel Miller, is hoping her debut novel, Awakening, will fill a widening gap in the thriving new adult romance book genre.

She might be on to something. According to a survey that was recently published by New Adult Alley, a website dedicated to the advancement of the fast-growing genre, readers are looking for more diversity in terms of sexual preferences, cultural backgrounds and settings. In particular, almost 40 percent of a targeted group of respondents were interested in stories in the non-contemporary category.

Miller hopes to meet that demand with her novel, Awakening. "It'sbook one in a series about a young woman striking out on her own in a futuristic society called the Realm," she says. "Kira, the protagonist, is like so many starting out eager, passionate and ambitious, but finds herself on a tumultuous path that tests everything she knows about those she loves and the world she lives in."

Awakening takes on compelling topics such asmultiple partner relationships as well as sexual dominance and submission all against the backdrop of a society ruled by a caste system and spread across multiple worlds.
