Raymond M Hickey, a retired New York City Police Officer, has completed his new book "Undercover Recruit": a gripping and potent story, full of raw excitement and anticipation.

After a three-year enlistment in the United States Marine Corps Raymond M Hickey became a New York City Patrolman, and spent twenty-five years in the Emergency Service Division. Sixteen years as Sergeant in Charge of Emergency Squad One, the unit located in Mid-town Manhattan. Upon retirement he relocated to a cattle farm in South Carolina.

When asked about his inspiration for the book, Hickey stated "I wrote the book to give some recognition to all undercover Police Officers, and tried to describe the life they live. No matter if the officer is assigned a week, a month, or years, their life is always on the line. The book is a take off of a series of jobs we covered during my time in the Police Department."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Raymond M Hickey's poignant tale provides a thought provoking look into the world of undercover law enforcement.

An appointee to the Police Academy for the Police Department City of New York, finds himself singled out for a short assignment as an undercover Police Officer. As with everything in life what looks like a sure thing does not follow the script, and once involved he finds himself in a situation no one anticipated.

Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase "Undercover Recruit" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
