Raoji (Ray) M. Patel believes that many children of Indian descent often move to the United States in search of a better life. He thinks that while other Indian children born in America are often materially successful, they lose touch with the values of traditional Indian culture. This includes losing a deep love, respect and gratitude for their parents' loving sacrifices.

Patel invites readers to experience his new book, "Mother of a Millionaire" (published by iUniverse), which provides 1 through 11 short stories, insight into the issues both Indian children and their parents face as they make homes in a new country with different customs and ways of living. In the near future, he plans to translate his book into Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. He also encourages readers to suggest additional translations of his book.

In some of these stories, a spouse's selfishness creates a rift within the family. In other stories, a father slips from his patriarchal responsibilities, creating family discord and a loss of respect.

This collection of short stories shows how Indian parents strongly believe forgiveness can make one happier and healthier and free him or her from sin. But, as ancient Indian scripture says, forgiveness is "the greatness of the great" because it creates in the forgiver unprecedented greatness.
