Freelance journalist and author Randy Jernigan has released a cookbook full of diabetic friendly recipes and 25 tips that helped, as the author claims, save his life.

"Losing To Win! A Digest of Recipes and Tips to Keep You Fit and Healthy" hit the market November 16, 2013 to very brisk sales, and is now breaking sales records, according to publishing house, Creative Partners Publishing.

"It's Randy's story that's touching people's lives," explains one of Jernigan's writer friends, Mike Bennet, "Here's a guy that was addicted to food all his life. He lived to eat, and like many of us use food to cover up our life's mistakes and personal issues-and who nearly kicked the bucket because of it. He loses the weight and saves his own life in the process. All of us with weight issues and health challenges like those that Randy faced, love stories like this. He won the battle. It gives us hope," says Bennet.

"Losing To Win!" Not only provides scrumptious recipes that are easy to make in your own kitchen, but hard learned diet and exercise tips that helped Jernigan melt off the pounds. When Jernigan began his weight-loss journey he weighed in at 345 pounds. After a year of eating right and exercising, Jernigan now weighs in at 187 pounds, less the diabetic and hypertension conditions that plagued him daily.

"I've tried some of these recipes in my own kitchen and they're delicious," says Bennet. "I'm not much of a cook but these recipes are so simple and the finished product is delicious. Almost elegant. I've even lost eight pounds since I've been cooking out of his book," Bennet boasts.

"Losing To Win! A Digest of Recipes and Tips to Keep You Fit and Healthy" is available in both paperback and kindle additions at amazon.com or where ever fine books are sold.
