When it comes to education, American teacher proves that enlightenment knows no borders.

An inspirational story about love, education and Egypt, Because I Believed In Me (My Egyptian Fantasy Came True) by Randi Ward shares her Egyptian adventures and the people she met along the way. After a visit to Egypt with her husband, she was inspired to travel to Cairo alone to teach English as a second language. Immersing herself in the Egyptian culture, Ward learned to function and prosper as an Egyptian woman.

Throughout the book, Ward shares stories about her daily life, the challenges she faced and the people who have permanently impacted her life. Through her message, Ward lends her insight and experience to those who may not have a full understanding of Egypt and Egyptians. She hopes to teach, inspire, entertain and enlighten readers using the stories and pictures of her Egyptian adventures.

"I have always been fascinated by Egypt and its antiquities," says Ward. "Living and teaching in the country during its revolution taught me more about its people and culture than I could have ever imagined."

According to Ward, there are many unfair misconceptions about Egyptians, especially Muslims and Islamic religion. She hopes to combat these negative stereotypes through the book's many messages.

"There is often a negative connotation when people discuss Muslims and their philosophy," says Ward. "Much of this stems from misunderstanding and a lack of knowledge in the non-Muslim world."

Ward has kept in touch with many friends and former students through Facebook.
