Rabbi Ya'akov Anekwe takes great inspiration from Yahsha's "Great Commission" in the Book of Mark 16:15-18. The passages encourage believers to preach and spread the gospel throughout the world. Those who believe and are baptized will be saved, while those who do not believe will not be saved. Anekwe's new book, "Longing for Rest: Shabbat an Acid Test to Mankind" (published by Lulu), embodies this commission, giving true seekers the sound doctrine needed to save their souls.

"In obedience to that Great Commission, I was further inspired to address the falsehood in Christendom," explains Anekwe, "and then bring to light the everlasting truth in Judaism or true worship to The Almighty as enshrined in the Torah aimed at saving millions of souls that are continually and earnestly seeking for salvation world-wide."

In five chapters, the book defines what it means to worship. It distinguishes between the worship as outlined in the Torah versus the worship of Satan that man has created. Anekwe hopes to not only reach out to Christians, but to Jews who, according to him, have fallen away from their divine commands and bring them back to the Torah.

"The book has detailed teachings on the Laws of The Most High with emphasis on Shabbat, which is the sign of His everlasting Covenant with Israel," says Anekwe. "It will appeal to readers because it was written in simple and easy to understand language and concise analogies."

By this definition, Anekwe advises Christians and other religions of the world to "cease the hatred and neglect toward Jews." He enjoins them instead to "re-examine their attitudes concerning the rich Jewish heritage undergirding their faith so they can achieve salvation since it is of the Jews per se (John: 4:22)."
