Author R.W. (Bill) Hughes' keen interest in the life story of Pastor William Moore has prompted him to write ""The Gardener" Pastor William Moore 1826-1906," (published by Xlibris AU) a story of a man who rose from a lowly background through education and hard work.
Pastor William Moore was born in England at a time when the dark shadows of poverty, disadvantage and class distinction lay across the land - when to be born poor was a stigma, and justice, education and opportunity were not for the likes of him. But he had an inner strength and with a burning desire to better himself, he began a journey that enabled him to use his considerable ability and intelligence to develop his skills to a degree where he could demonstrate his true value and worth. And ultimately, he was able to share with other men and women the rich treasures he had discovered on his journey.
"Pastor William Moore rejected the class society into which he was born and moved to Australia, where he was one among equals," Hughes explains. "He was able to distinguish himself through his own efforts and reach a position where he was admired and respected."
Hughes hopes that after reading this book, readers will realize for themselves that there are still a number of good men and women in this world through the real life story of ""The Gardener" Pastor William Moore 1826-1906."
