With her photographic journal, she taps into the psyche of the island and its people, conveying the special meaning Rottnest has for her, revealing scenes during the winter months. It was the rains that gave Roper a renewed sense of wonder that inspired her reflections.

Roper takes her readers on a journey of discovery. It shows them some of their favorite spots while letting those new to Rottnest become familiar with the vast sense of space it provides.
