Presenting a mixture of reflections on life on a Pacific beach, haiku poetry and personal essays on life and living, author Larry W. Gasser's new book, "Reflections of a Beachcomber: How to Cope with Disability, Divorce, and Job Loss" (published by Archway Publishing), illustrates his errors of thought and emotion that prolonged his many crises.
In this personal collection of poetic verse and essays, Gasser recalls how he successfully coped with the effects of divorce, job loss and three disabling conditions. With more than 32 hours of study in counseling at the post-graduate level and four years of training as a community development disability activist, Gasser brings expertise to the topics of emotional coping skills and personal crisis management.
"My method is to analyze the errors and successes I encountered as I went through nearly 50 years of disabilities and other personal and family crises," Gasser says.
In this collection, Gasser hopes to share the details his multifaceted approach to coping which includes practical philosophies on life and discussions of relationship issues, to name a couple.
He hopes to inspire his readers to learn from their personal experiences rather than being dominated by their circumstances.
