Two teenagers share their first kiss in Midland, Michigan, in the fall of 1955. As new and unfamiliar emotions are surfacing, Beth's family is uprooted and suddenly moved, her whereabouts unknown to Ben, until an unsuspecting Facebook message over half a century later brings them back into contact.

An excerpt from "The Daisy": "She smiled at him, squeezed his hand and said, her voice soft and exciting, "Good night." She then turned and went back into the house. He stood there transfixed for what seemed an eternity, wondering what had just happened to him."

"The Daisy" explores the question of whether passion from long ago can be resurrected after the effects of age have stymied both memory and libido. It points out the inherent problems age brings to a new and budding physical relationship and how those problems can sometimes be overcome.
