Quest of the Keys author Scotty Sanders has announced plans this fall to produce new character posters to promote his fantasy book, the first in a planned series of novels. The photo shoot for the new posters will take place on October 28, and the finished posters will be widely published and promoted on social media when completed.

The book follows the journey of Decklen, a young man who escapes from slavery and sets out on a journey of self-improvement and redemption. The novel is aimed at middle and high school students and is being used in English language arts curriculum and required reading lists for schools around the world.

Already, Sanders' official book website features seven character posters based on the novel. The poster series is also available to schools to compliment the curriculum. After the successful completion of a poster giveaway contest promoted on Facebook, the Texas-based author decided to expand the poster series as quickly as possible. In one month this summer, the Facebook poster contest reached almost 27,000 users.

"I have heard from several people on how cool they thought it was to have character posters from the book Quest of the Keys," said author Scotty Sanders. "The Marcus and Octavius characters will give us a series of nine portraits."

Sanders wrote his fantasy novel to inspire self-improvement skills in young people, and the character posters are part of an ongoing campaign to promote the novel and its values. The existing posters do not include the central character Octavius, the source of the wisdom that guides Decklen's titular quest.

Kevin Lynam is the creative art director for Quest of the Keys and previously designed the official website and book jacket. Lynam will appear as Octavius in one of the new posters, while Los Angeles-based actor Matt Singletary will play the character of Marcus.

"I am pumped about being a part of this project because of its positive values. It's great to be involved in something that is bettering the next generation," said Singletary, a professional football player turned actor, and the son of Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary
